Questions & Answers

From time to time we get questions from people who have looked at this site, have seen one of our boats or talked with us on other discussion boards.  I figure, if one person is interested in a particular subject, maybe others could be.  So I have decided to post the questions and answers here.  Let me make this disclaimer though - WE ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL BOATBUILDERS. We don't work in a boatyard, we don't have a restoration business or anything else of that sort.  We are just two oldragbaggers who have accumlated a bit of experience over 25 years of sailing together and rebuilding our own boats.  We are self taught from books for the most part, or have picked up skills or tips from people we have met or talked to along the way in the various boatyards and marinas where we worked on our boats.  You can take our information for whatever you think it's worth, glean what sounds good to you and ignore the rest.  We would also be very glad to receive tips and comments from anyone who has had good success with another method, or can improve upon what we have posted here.  We have two boat restoration projects sitting in our back yard and we are always happy to learn from someone else's experience.
And for those who have sent us questions, let me say, we are flattered that you have considered us knowledgable enough that you would ask our advice.  We sincerely hope we never lead anyone astray with our suggestions.  We just know what has worked for us.
Becky
